Most timelines of this landscape mark publication dates. This one draws each document as a bar running from publication until it was superseded, updated or withdrawn — so you can read across any year and see what was actually in force, and where versions overlap. Documents are grouped into seven lanes: standards and methods, discipline guidance, targets, net zero, roadmaps and reports, planning policy, and government research.
